Winter

This is Lucy just before Christmas "cruising" on her knees using the laundry basket. Now she's cruising standing up along furniture and starting to stand for a few seconds on her own, so I'm guessing she'll be walking before long. She's still really small - at her 9 month (actually almost 10 month) doctor's appointment, she was just a bit over 16 pounds (and a little over the fifth percentile for weight). The upside is that even though Lucy was born in early April and Kate was born in mid-July, because Lucy is so much smaller, we've been able to use all of Kate's old clothes and still have the seasons match okay.

Even though Kate and Lucy really don't look much alike at all, they somehow both look like Paul's twins..

As you can see, despite her low weight, this girl likes her food (during the evening pictured above, she ate two entire slices of pizza!) She mostly likes meat and cheese and is not a big fan of vegetables...

Kate took a ballet class this winter at the Maryland Youth Ballet (MYB). She enjoyed the classes, but after we purchased all the expensive ballet gear, she decided that she likes gymnastics better. Which is actually okay because at MYB, once the girls turn 5, you have to commit to an entire year of classes.
I have to admit all the girls look pretty adorable in their matching leotards though...

In other news, DC got hit with its first big snow/ice storm of the year and in typical Pepco customer fashion, we lost power for over 48 hours. By the time the heat came back on, it was less than 50 degrees in the house. And I had confirmed the fact that I would not make a very good pioneer woman.

The Holidays!

The Marsiglia cousins (this picture gets harder to take each year as the number of kids grows..)

Kate opening presents on Christmas morning.

Lucy's favorite present was the Gerber Puffs :)

The holidays are very tiring...

Lucy excited about being able to pull up on everything now - I'm not so excited...

Halloween Pictures

Getting ready to trick or treat - Kate had a lot of fun on Halloween this year, although I've decided she can't really be my child, since after about an hour, she said "I have enough candy now. Let's go home."

And somehow it's almost Halloween...

I've been really bad about posting pictures here. To be honest, I have no idea how it is already mid-October. All I know for sure is that I currently drink about 5 cups of coffee a day and we are all alive and doing reasonably well :) These first couple pictures are from Labor Day, when we had a picnic lunch up at Pinecrest Park.

Here's Lucy crawling. She started scooting at about 4 months old and full-fledged crawling at 5 1/2 months old, which is quite a bit earlier than Kate crawled. I really need to start baby-proofing. For example, I caught her yesterday about to put her wet hand into the electric socket. She's also fond of pushing the buttons on the TV and DVD player and pushing the lever down on the heat and A/C register. Plus, she's quick. I think her speeding around the room looks particularly funny because she's still so small - still in size 1 diapers!

Poor Sadie can't get a break either...

Checking to see if I'm watching her...

In early October, we went to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware with some friends. The weather was gorgeous and Kate had so much fun walking on the beach and collecting seashells.

Some More Summer Pictures

Lucy's almost 5 months old now and moving around like crazy using a mixture of rolling and a crazy-looking army crawl. I'm afraid she's going to be crawling any day now..

Kate's preschool was closed for a week in August. Paul stayed home with her and they had a great time being "tourists" in DC - they went to the National Zoo, the National History Museum, swimming and to a splash playground in Germantown.

Kate and I went to get our nails done. She really enjoyed the spa day :)
